Facilitation

Would your church be willing to spearhead, in whole or in part, or to facilitate in whole or in part, a mission to reach, over the next 10 years, at least 90% of the people in your city with the message of who Jesus really is?

What would be required, you say?

• Make time to consider, to discuss mission.
• Participate in and help to facilitate inter church discussion forums on mission.
• Send delegates to training programs and advertise/welcome support for your events from believers from other churches.
• Delegate members of your church to participate in inter church mission events.

We all know that eventually, mission reshapes church, but mission needs to be kickstarted with evangelistic anointing and a city wide mission structure in which a halfway house discipleship program is present, one which may not be fully present as yet in the church that would eventually house those new believers. Mission needs to be re-imagined in terms of its shape and eventually church will need to be re-imagined as a collective of missionary congregations and ministries. This will allow the church in our cities to retake its New Testament shape, and this must be able to occur immediately, that is, without having to disturb the structures internal to congregations. So long as there is a trust building conversation, and a process of retraining and paradigm shifting that happens at whatever pace is possible for each congregation, cities in Europe will continue to show that they are able to onboard this type of “exoskeletal” restructuring, and even absorb some of the mission halfway house practices and principles into their congregations.
